6 Tips For Healthy, Shiny Skin

Skin is the largest organ of your body with the main function of protecting you from many infections, bacteria, pollutants, as it acts as a barrier between you and them. Taking care of this barrier strengthens it and so, it’s important to take care of your skin. The following are a few key points that you should take care of in order to have radiant skin.

Tip 1: Water

The first and foremost tip is to drink water- lots of it! If you want a clear and radiant complexion, make water your best friend. It not only reduces the appearance of wrinkles but also slows down the ageing process to a great extent as it increases skin elasticity. This plumps the skin and keeps it glowing.

When you drink an adequate amount of water, your body easily gets rid of the toxins and this gives an overall positivity to your health.
It also helps in reducing weight!

Most experts recommend drinking 2 litres (8 glasses) of water a day. However, do not start drinking 8 glasses with immediate effect. Increase the amount gradually, in this way it’s more effective and safe.

Tip 2: Healthy Diet

What comes right after, is the diet! Diet plays an important role in the appearance and health of the skin. Whatever is in your body, shows on the outside so keep this in mind next time getting junk food or anything that’s unhealthy.
Junk food and some dairy products signal your body to increase oil production and hence it plays a key role in causing acne and texturizing skin.
You should eat more fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, fish, eggs, etc. Try to incorporate superfoods (blueberries, chia seeds, salmon, kale, açaí, etc) in your daily menu as they do wonders for your skin, hair, body.

Tip 3: Exfoliate

Exfoliating is crucial in getting rid of the dead cells sitting on your skin. This is important as they act as a barrier and let sweat and dirt remain under them and so, increases acne. The skin also gets a lot smoother and shinier and helps prevent acne.

Exfoliation must be done once or twice a week or maximum thrice. Over exfoliating can be really dangerous for the skin as it does more bad than good. It can cause excessive dryness, irritation, redness. And you can end up with broken blood vessels and acne as well.

Tip 4: Exercise

Exercise increases blood circulation in your body and it increases heart rate to a healthy limit and so more oxygen and nutrients get to the cells in your body and mainly, your skin. Increased blood circulation also aids in removing toxins and waste material from the cells and so gives your skin a natural glow.

Tip 5: Sunblock

Use sunblock daily as it prevents the harmful UV rays from the sun to penetrate your skin and is very harmful as it can cause premature wrinkles, sunburns, redness, and even skin cancer. These damaging rays are present all around us so experts suggest to use it even on a cloudy day and at night.

Tip 6: Sleep

Lack of sleep can have an adverse effect on the skin’s health along with the body. It causes more stress and anxiety and so collagen production is greatly reduced. The process of healing also slows down and the marks, scars, etc take much longer to disappear.
